RAISED
FLOOR
|
DESCRIPTION
|
The
modular raised floor is a truly self-contained system which allows the
creation of a new unobstructed area for the installation of technical
plants for present and future use. The system is made up of different
elements:
° a bearing and levelling substructure
° a
support panel for the surface covering
° a surface
finish serving as walking floor
|
BASIC
REQUIREMENTS
|
The raised floor must:
° provide a free surface for technical
plants using interchangeable modular components
° be capable of withstanding the working
loads for which it has been selected. The recent UNI 10466 regulations
dealing with raised floors provide a classification system based on the
effective loads exerted on the floor when the plant is running:
- Class 1: Use with light loads
- Class 2: Use with medium loads
- Class 3: Use
with heavy loads
- Class 4: Use with
special loads
° guarantee
satisfactory acoustic properties
° be made out of materials
which do not generate noxious or unpleasant emissions
° be covered by guarantees
under a system of Quality Control in compliance with the regulations
currently in force

ADVANTAGES
OF THE RAISED FLOOR
|
° Flexibility into design process. Changes
which are normally required between the design and execution stages can
be assimilated quickly and easily
° Flexibility in
the distribution and positioning of all the technical plants. A
technical area with obstructions reduced to a minimum facilitates
plants movement with resulting cost reductions
° The system is
equally effective for newly-built structures and those undergoing
renovation. In the latter case the floor can be installed without
touching the pre-existing surface
° Dry
installation. This reduces costs and installation times as well as
reducing the extent of the building works required
° Plant
maintenance: it provides easy and immediate opening, maintenance and
closing
° Flexibility in
the installation of new work stations for plant and equipment and in
the movement of those previously installed
° Combination of
raised floor with other technical fittings, such as mobile partitions
and false ceilings, for a complete intervention in interior design
° Benefits
relating to write down costs and tax costs. The raised floor can be
included in the same category as office furnishing and mobile
partitions.
|
CHARACTERISTICS
|
° Particularly sturdy and durable.
° A leading-edge system in construction and
maintenance techniques.
° It allows the implementation of the
latest concepts in modern interior design through a series of different
sizes, colours and ceramic types.
